It's been a while since any of us posted sa blog na ito, 2010 pa ang huli. Kaya eto naisipan kong buhayin kahit papano ang blog namin.

Hindi ako magaling mag-shot ng picture kahit nuon na ang uso pa ay ang 110 film (o di nyo alam yun no?) Tandaan ko way back in highschool, ako ang natangi tanging may dala ng 110 camera, silang lahat puros 135. Pagnagsho-shot ako mostly wala ang ulo, maluwag sa one side ng frame, worst naibaba ko na pala ang camera tsaka nagshot.

Now, on digital era, phones usually have mega-pixelated camera and with help from different apps you can edit or add effects to make it more dramatic.

MAJOR MAJOR DAY, AUGUST 23, 2010

August 23 (Manila time and Nevada time) marked a two-faced day for the world. Two faces from two Filipinos.

SAD FACE.

A certain Rolando Mendoza, a disgruntled former senior inspector from the Manila Police District, took 25 people hostage in an attempt to get his job back. 9 of them were released, 1 escaped, 7 were injured and 8 were killed.

I'll enumerate my opinion:

1. Mendoza's brother shouldn't resist the arrest and don't get me started on the other Mendoza's on the site. They're not the victims that night.

2. Media blow-by-blow was a huge mistake! It was very obvious that Mendoza's watching the news from the bus. Graphic live feed, I even heard media men laughing as the shots we're fired on their direction. And Mike Enriquez' "utak!". Come on!

3. Uzi, not the submachine gun but the UZI-zeros! No wonder a teen-ager got injured, I'm not saying he deserves it, but we should stop this UZI thing!

4. SWAT: Should We ATtack? Sana Wag Akong Tamaan? and the list goes on..

What happened to the tourist bus on that day, as we all Filipinos know is an isolated case. Philippines is a very safe place for tourist, Manila-scene is just a minor minor place compared to the rest of the Philippines.

We apologize and would like to give our condolences to the family of the tourists whose lives were taken.

HAPPY FACE.

Maria Venus Bayonito Raj took the 5th spot in the Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant. A towering Bicolana, 5ft 9in whose vital stats are, WOW, 35-22-35.

She was the last contestant to be called on the Top 15. Wanna see some reactions? see the video below.

She placed 3rd on the swimsuit competition and was called for the top 10.

She placed 5th on the gown and was included in the top 5. Which means Q&A na ni ka ernie baron.

The famous question from a Baldwin: "What is one big mistake that you've made in your life, and what did you do to make it right?"

Raj raj raj: "In my 22 years of existence, I can say that there is nothing major, major...I mean, problem that I've done in my life, because I am very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So, thank you so much that I am here. Thank you, thank you so much!"

My opinion(s):

para sa 3rd installment ng ONSEhan, 11 words or phrase REAL MEN should never use. Nakuha ko ang inspirasyon mula kay Lourd de Veyra, pero dadagdagan ko ng sarili kong inputs para BONGGA, este para COOL.

ONSE - loveit / lavet

Madalas ko tong marinig sa commercials at sa mga pinoy talkshows. At ang pag-pronounce nito ay as one-word, "lavet".

DYES- bongga*

Parang eto ata ay no explanation needed. Pero minsan eh 2x pa itong binubulalas, "BONGGANG BONGGA"!

NWEVE - thingie*

may refer to anything. yun lang!

OCHO-OCHO - di kaya ng powers ko*

Isa pa ata to, no explanation necessary. Kung dati e si darna at kapitan bawang lang ang may powers, ngayon maski sino e meron na.

example: BOY1: pre, ok yun SALT no, di kinaya ng powers ko ang ganda ni Angelina Jolie. BOY2: oo pre!

SHETE - fave*

may refer to anything you really like or favorite mo.

SAIS - _ness

Ang hulaping -ness. kinakabit ito sa kahit anong salita, mapatagalog man o english. Either you agree or disagree with something e kakabitan mo ng -ness just to make a stress to your point. likeness, cuteness, asar-ness...

example: BOY1: pre, likeness ko yun SALT, ang ganda ni Angelina Jolie. BOY2: oo pre, cuteness!

SINGKO - palong-palo

Dati kinakatakutan ko ang palo, kasi masakit, nasubukan ko na lahat: sinturon, walis, kawayan at kahoy. aba ngayon e iba na pala ang meaning nito. Kung baga e mabenta o ayos ang isang bagay.

example: BOY1: pre, ok yun SALT no, ang ganda ni Angelina Jolie. BOY2: oo pre, palong-palo!

KWATRO - pak

halintulad ito sa SINGKO. Kasi nga palong-palo so may tunog, PAK! same meaning pero deserving ito ng isang spot kasi mas malala.

TRES - girl

Madalas ko tong marinig, as in madalas. Di ko na lang sabihin kung saan basta andito ako sa lugar na ito 5days a week. Instead of calling someone by his/her name e "girl" ang itatawag mo sa kanya, worst "gurl".

example: BOY1: girl, ok yun SALT no, ganda ni Angelina Jolie. BOY2: oo gurl!

DOS - kalurkey

Sinasambit ito kapag, nakakabaliw ang isang bagay. Katulad din ito ng "kaloka" noong 80's pero nagevelove na sya.

example: BOY1: pre, ok yun SALT no, ang ganda ni Angelina Jolie. BOY2: oo pre, kalurkey!

UNO - teh

ayan na ang malala, bukod sa girl e teh ang ginagamit. Kung noong 80's e kapatid mo lang ang ate mo, ngayon maski sino ay tinatawag ng teh.

example: BOY1: teh, faveness ko na yun SALT, ang bongga ni Angelina Jolie. BOY2: oo girl, pak na pak!

... is the bib number for my 1st ever 10k run, February 21, 2010 at The Fort.

The registration cost 600 pesos. It includes singlet, bib number, electronic timer chip and other free stuff(one of which includes a healthy food bar that I wasn't able to eat, it expired a day before the run).On the day of the run, I arrived around 4:50AM on the venue. According to the itinerary list, 10K run will start at 5AM, pero it started 5:35... so pinoy time. My left leg still hurts because of the 2 practice runs I had.

All 10K, runners we're requested to form on the starting line, a few seconds after the 21K runners started their run. I had my mp3 player with me and my phone(thinking na i'll be able to take some shots while running). At the start line, ang daming tao. Then there is a huge LCD screen that showed a guy instructing simple stretching, which I did follow. And then a gun shot, yumuko ako kala ko may gulo, JOKE!

It took me a while, a minute to be exact, before I crossed the starting line. An electronic chip were placed on every runners shoe and will calculate your time and speed, accurately. I was doing the simple run, then the quick run(the fastest I could go kasi masakit talaga) and then the walk. At some point there were models and event-people who gives water(event-people) and gatorade(models). I've passed by at least 4 and had 3 stops, 2 of which for water and 1 gatorade. At 5K point, the run-chip scanner is placed (38(m):24(s)). I'm drenched in sweat! Itlog na maalat at malabsa! And then the finish line after another 5K of course. We all have to line up for our freebies. Free breakfast(all tuna recipe they could think off), calendar, face towel, powerade(like a gatorade).

According to runpix, I finished at 1h:13m:15s (gun) / 1h:12m:15s (net).

ONDOY

Saturday morning, around 9am, September 26, 2009.

I woke up, because it is unusually cold that day. Could hear the storm from my room, which causes the cold weather that morning. I heard everyone at home were all up by that time. So, I went down just to check the situation. I checked our 'bakuran' and I could see the flood water reaching the gate and drive way.

By 12pm, flood water starts filling up the whole 'bakuran'. We never thought it would ever reach that high. (we're all confident that's the highest it could possibly reach)

By 3pm, flood water starts to break-in-to the house. It flows through the main door, from the dirty kitchen area drainage and the bathroom drainage. Everything happened so fast, I just found myself lifting, moving furniture and appliances to a 'baha-free' place, along with everyone else in the house of course.

By 4pm, electricity was shut off.

being alone is really hard.

but, being single is easy and fun if you constantly join your friends, this will lessen the lonesome you feel.

and you'll surely forget being single once you get home to your family.

though most of the times i'm just alone. i hate the feeling, no friends to run to and tension at home makes you feel worst.

so i decided to make ONSE-han things to get by loneliness.

ONSE - maki-epal sa usapang ng iba.
example. kapag nakapila ka sa sakayan ng FX at narinig mo ang nakapila sa likod mo na tinanong kung pa-quiapo ba to, umepal ka agad maski di ikaw tinatanong, "Opo pa-Quiapo po ito"

DYES- pag may nagpapapicture, makisingit ka.
example. kapag naglalakad ka sa mall at sa di mo malamang kadahilanan eh may nagpapapicture sa mga mannequin at window display ng bench eh makisingit ka na agad. wag na wag humingi ng kopya matapos ang picture taking.

NWEVE - be generous sa jeep.
example. pumwesto malapit sa driver kapag sumakay ng jeep at abutin mo lahat ng bayad ng mga pasahero with smile. if medyo may natipuhan ka, ibayad mo na lang din cia.

OCHO-OCHO - kapag naglalakad at may nakita kang 2 or more na taong magkasamang naglalakad, join them!
example. magjowa, magka-holding hands, maiisip mo bakit ikaw single, tapos malulungkot ka. pero don't entertain that thought, makisabay sa lakad nila pero dont look at them para di obvious.

SHETE - textmate
example. makinig ka ng loveradio, bumili ng bulgar, dyaryo po ito. madami dun naghahanap ng textmate, just text them. "wEr N u, D2 n mE" "aGe U?" "hHi phow" "uZZtaH na Uh"

example. magdownload ng MIRC o kaya pasok ka sa yahoo chat. then hanap ka na ng pwede ka chat then later on ka-eyeball.

TRES - talk to your reflection
example. basta kumuha ng salamin at kausapin ang sarili. wag magtaka kung bakit sabay kau ng sinasabi, normal lang yan.

DOS - magpanggap na kakilala mo.
example. kapag may nakita kang tao na nag-iisa at parang may inaantay. lapitan agad at sabihin "jessica?" kung babae at "philip?" kung lalaki. may 90% chance na di un ang pangalan nila at magtataka kung kakilala ka ba nila, kahit papano tatagal ang uspan ng 5 minuto.

Cory Aquino was buried yesterday. I would just like to share a video captured by my officemate , the closest she could get to the cortege of our former president. She posted this on facebook and I asked her permission to re-post it here.

Along Osmena Highway going to Buendia. It was raining but still people gathered to pay tribute and say goodbye to our beloved Corazon Aquino. The birds you saw, they were released by those poor people who were patiently waiting for the casket to pass by. They even prepared their own confetti of torn papers that seemed to be yellow pages and newspapers. - exact description from her facebook post

It was holiday yesterday but I have to work. I couldn't help but notice yellow ribbons tied on vehicles, posts, MMDA signs along the way. It was raining yesterday morning on my way to Ortigas and struggled to take a photo of this ribbon, dripping wet.


It was a sad day yesterday, as sad as this picture depicts. Wet, gloomy and blurry.

now that we've introduced ourselves, it's now time for my first blog entry... errrr, i guess my second but the first one was not an official entry... anyways, just read on..

I enjoy watching make-over shows, like: extreme make-over, f(defunct), how do i look, and a lot more. I like the part where the before and after pics are shown. Most, really helped the participant to look good but there are a few, very few, that didn't helped at all.

Lucky me(noodles?), I have my own "before and after". As you've read on nog's entry, mukha akong poste ng meralco, I'm 5'10" was 112lbs then and sported a trying-hard-to-be-F4-hair-style.

To cut the description short, here are some before pics:

pic1: it was my 1st xmas party @ FTSP, this was taken December 2005, theme was hat party so i decided to wear a hard hat. (pakititigan na lang ang siko at braso)

Now for the after part. I started going to gym a few months after my minor surgery: on my left arm, upper-left buttock and inner-right thigh. 3 benign tumors were removed, one on each area. I started by mid-2007, had to stop a few months after just going to gym for 4 months, then went back again on the last week of 2007 and non-stop till now.

Pagpapakilala : bersyon ni nog

Unang una salamat sa mga papuri at mabulaklak mong mga salita. Nang makita ko ang larawan mo, inakala kong ito ay isang obituary, may maulap-ulap pang effect. Medyo kinilabutan ako ng kaunti at naisip ko agad na parang ilang minuto pa lamang ay kausap kita. Inisip ko agad kung swine flu ba o malaria dala ng madalas na pagbaha sa Sampaloc.

Ikalawa naman, ito ay nagmukang resume. May prestigious ka pang nalalaman. Sana sinabi mo agad, para nabigyan kita ng Letter of Application ko. Pero hahayaan ko na iyan. Papalagpasin ko muna sa ngayon. Total, iniangat mo din naman ang aking pangalan.

Budha beads na samut-saring kulay, minsan naka ayon pa sa kung anong kulay ng damit ang suot. Nang mauso naman ang choker, iba’t ibang klase din, may parang kahoy, may puti. Mas masikip mas maganda mas malaki ang chance na machoke. Yan si tobobz, medyo jologs. HAHAHA! Noong una, di ko pinapansin ung mga jokes o banat niya na kung pakakasuriin mo ay korni naman. Dinadaan nalang sa performance and delivery kaya maraming naloloko. Subalit ng malaon ay unti-unti itong nag improve at hit na ang mga joke niya. Noon parang poste lang siya ng meralco sa may M. Dela Fuente, pero ng makaluwag luwag at makapagtrabaho (wag nating kalimutan na “prestigious company”) aba, para na siyang poste sa baywalk, maynila, nagkabuhay na kahit papaano. Teka nakakarami na yata ako. Mabuting itigil ko na ito at maireserve sa ibang pagkakataon. Sa ngayon, sinisigurado ko na madaming mga nakatagong patawa at pakwela yang si tobobz. Don't judge him by my description.

Actually di naman ako kilala sa tawag na Nog nung college, HS lang ng ako’y tawaging Nog ng aking mga kaibigan. Di ko nga alam kung bakit yun ang tawag sa akin. Hanggang sa ngayon, pinipilit ko pa ding hanapin ang kasagutan upang mabuo na ang aking pagkatao. Sa araw-araw kong hinaharap ang buhay pakiramdam ko ba ay tila may kulang. Pero sa ngayon lang ito, sa mga susunod na blog, papalitan ko itong Nog. Palitan natin ng mas mukang mayaman at nakakaluwag sa buhay na pangalan.

Bilang pag tatapos sa aking pagpapakilala, hayaan niyong ibahagi ko ang larawang ito:

Ako si tobobz. I'm a Software Developer from a prestigious company somewhere in Ortigas. I'm a Computer Science Graduate. 'tobobz' was derived from tito babis. I have 7 pamangkins, my very 1st pamangkin called me by that name. She can't utter my name well, so she pronounces my name as babis. Eventually tito babis was shortened to 'tito babs', 'tito bobz', 'tobobz', even 'bobz'. I find 'tobobz' more appealing and prefer to use it as my official blog name. You'll get to know me more as this blog progress.

Siya si nog. Nog and I were classmates all throughout college years. We didn't became friends instantly. We hit off as barkada on our second year. Nog is one of the cum laudes in our batch. A born-leader, responsible, dedicated person. He's not the typical know-it-all classmate we all used to have in our elementary and high school days. One of the smart guys in class and at the same time the funniest guy in the room, next to me of course. I'm not saying he's a perfect guy, but he is in Bea's eyes for sure, by the way Bea is his lovely wife.
